With its well educated, low cost, productive

workforce and access to European markets,

Poland is attractive for foreign direct investment. Poland was the first country in post-Communist Europe to embrace rapid economic liberalization at the beginning of the 1990s. Located in central Europe, it has a population of 38.5 million.

According to CBRE MarketView (Q4 2009), Poland became Europe’s best performer in the current stage of economic slowdown.

Poland is the 6th largest economy in the EU and is considered to have one of the fastest growing economies in the central European nations with an annual growth rate of over 6.0% prior to the recession. Despite the recession, Polands economy grew by 1.2% in 2009 according to a report by The Economist.

Why Poland

GDP per head rose from 50% to 56% of the EU average in 2009 - a record jump. Poland is the only member of the European Union to have avoided a decline in GDP in 2009.

The IMF forecasts growth of 1.9% in 2010 but this figure is seen as conservative and many investors expect the Polish Economy to exceed this level of growth inside the next 12 months.

One of the main reasons to invest in Poland is its location at the very heart of continental Europe, where it is part of the trans European road network and has easy access to 250 million consumers within a radius of 1,000 km.

  1. -Continued growth in 2009 despite the global recession

  2. -Positive growth forecasts for 2010 and beyond

  3. -Limited dependence on international trade and a sound banking sector (OECD Market Outlook 2010)

  4. -Poland expected to adopt Euro currency in 2015
